With the Premier League season already 3 weeks in, there has been plenty of moments to watch Liverpool’s attack with Mane, Salah and Firmino up front destroying defenses. Once Liverpool beat Arsenal this past weekend 4-0, people started thinking Liverpool could be a threat to the title race. Even without one of Liverpool’s star players in Phillipe Coutinho, who is allegedly injured but is likely leaving Liverpool anyway to FC Barcelona in the coming days.
Liverpool even after their amazing start are bidding 72 million for Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco which potentially could be Coutinho’s replacement once he is off to Spain. If Liverpool can perform at an elite level this season in the Premier League, there is no excuse why they cannot have a run in the UEFA Champions League with all the excitement surrounding this club.
With Mane having 3 goals in the first 3 games and Firmin getting 3 goals and 2 assists sets up two amazing starters to their season and we cannot forget about Salah who was just signed from AS Roma this summer who has gathered 2 goals and 1 assist so far.
Despite all of the other top 6 clubs in the Premier league from last season having elite attack, there is a very strong case for Liverpool to be ranked first because of the inconsistency of the top 6 clubs’ attacks so far. The only bad thing that could stop Liverpool from continuing this strong collection of results with them being 2nd right now is injuries which would be a shame because without Coutinho, they are showing they can still dominate at a high level.
