Predicting NFL Awards: Week 3

Week 3 is over, so it is time to award the players that performed the best. Here is the second edition of Predicting NFL Awards.

AFC

Offensive Player of the Week: Tom Brady

Tom Brady did not slow down this week against the Houston Texans. He threw for 378 yards and 5 touchdowns while engineering a perfect game-winning drive which saw the Patriots convert a 3rd and 18. Patriots win and Tom Brady goes back to back.

Defensive Player of the Week: Rashaan Melvin

This is a very questionable pick as there were other players that could have won this award. Colts came into this game needing a win and Melvin delivered. He picked of DeShone Kizer twice and played great defense.

Rookie of the Week: Kareem Hunt

Kareem Hunt may be the steal of the draft. He rushed for 172 yards and 1 touchdown in their game against the Chargers. He has scored a touchdown of 50+ yards in all of his games this season.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Stephen Hauschka

Hauschka was 4-4 on field goals against the Broncos. He nailed two field goals beyond 50 yards, one of 49 yards and a 27-yard field goal. Hauschka kept the Bills in the game and won them the game.

NFC

Offensive Player of the Week: Stefon Diggs

Diggs was very impressive in his game playing with his backup quarterback. He racked up 173 yards and 2 touchdowns including a spectacular catch in which he mossed a Bucs defender.

Defensive Player of the Week: DeMarcus Lawerence

Lawerence played great in his game against the Cardinals racking up four tackles while having 3 sacks against Carson Palmer. He was the most impressive player on the Cowboys defense

Rookie of the Week: Dalvin Cook

Cooks was great on Sunday racking up 97 yards on 27 carries also getting 1 touchdown. He was great in the blocking game to protecting Case Keenum

Special Teams Player of the Week: Matt Prater

Matt Prater was a perfect 6/6 on field goals this week (2 on extra points, 4 field goals). He kicked 2 field goals of 55+ yards, one 40+ yarder, and one 35 yarder. An impressive week from Matt Prater.
