Week 2 is in the books, and week 3 is almost underway. As the NFL has already recognized players with the awards, here are my picks for the NFL Awards.

AFC

Offensive Player: Tom Brady

Tom Brady bounced back after a bad week 1 against the Saints. He threw for 447 yards and three touchdowns. He showed his dominance by throwing all his touchdowns in the first quarter. Patriots improve to 1-1 and Brady shows that he can still play at a top-tier level.

Defensive Player- Chris Jones

Jones dominated against the Eagles offensive line. He sacked Wentz three times and picked him off once. Jones destroyed a top 5 offensive line and has earned this week’s defensive player of the week honors.

Rookie of the Week- Kareem Hunt

Hunt once again impressed against the Eagles rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns while having 36 receiving yards. Hunt was a great blocker to for Alex Smith.

Special Teams Player- Cody Parkey

Cody Parkey nailed 4 field goals on Sunday against the Chargers including a 54 yards game-winner. He was very accurate and was 4-4.

NFC

Offensive Player- Todd Gurley

Gurley had another dominant week rushing for 88 yards an 1 touchdown and having 48 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Gurley showed off his strength, breaking tackles and his hops after hurdling a Redskins players.

Defensive Player- Desmond Trufant

Trufant had one of the best games of his career. He held Jordy Nelson to 0 yards receiving while having an interception that set up a Falcons touchdown.

Rookie of the Week- Evan Engram

Out of every crisis, comes an opportunity. On a terrible week for the Giants, Engram was one of the few bright spots having 44 yards receiving and the only Giants touchdown.

Special Team Player- Jamal Agnew

Agnew iced the Giants with his 88-yard punt return in the 4th quarter.  On his amazing punt return, he showed off his strength by breaking two tackles and his agility eluding three guys.
