Player arrivals: Marko Arnautovic (£19m from Stoke City), Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez (£15m from Bayer Leverkusen), Joe Hart (Loan from Torino Fc), and Pablo Zabaleta (Free from Manchester City).

Player Departures: Ashley Fletcher (£6.21m to Middlesbrough), Havard Nordtveit (£6m to Hoffenheim), and Darren Randolph (£4.76m to Middlesbrough)

New signing Javier Hernandez returns to the Premier League after his time in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, the Mexican International scored 45 goals in 54 appearances with them. Before Chicharito moved to the Bundesliga, he played with the Premier League powerhouse, Manchester United. If he can play like he did back then, he might have a shot to win the golden boot.

Another player I see having a big season with West Ham is Manuel Lanzini. The Argentine Midfielder has 62 appearances for the Hammers and has 14 goals and 22 assists. Manager Slaven Bilić emphasized how much promise and potential he has.

West Ham United’s attack is average compared to the other teams in the league. With the additions of Chicharito and Arnautović I think their attack can compete with top-level clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal.

West Ham’s midfield is normal compared to other clubs in the Premier League and I don’t think that they will do better than last season.

West Ham’s biggest weakness is their defense. Their defense was absolutely horrid last season giving up more than 2 goals per game (2.22 goals specifically), and one of the main reasons that happened was injuries. If West Ham can have limited injuries this season, they can easily allow less than 2 goals per game.

West Ham’s goalie Adrián played about the average season but still, it isn’t good enough to play in the Premier League. With Joe Hart coming into the picture, West Ham’s goalie situation will be resolved.

Prediction: 8th

West Ham has a good team, but with the defenses injury problems and the attack not being where it should, I only see them getting 8th place this year.
